Bears can charge you at 30 feet per second. You must be prepared and practiced in your use of pepper spray. Practice shooting from the hip, since you may not have time to draw your pepper spray.
Human pepper spray is not the same as animal pepper spray. Only EPA approved sprays may be sold as deterrents against animals and have specific minimum requirements that must be met. Ours are the strongest that the EPA will allow, and have a range of up to 35 feet.
If you don't want to use a pepper spray why not use on of our repeller's that use ultrasonic technology. It uses a high frequency sound only audible to dogs and can help stop an approach of an unwanted dog upto 15 feet away.
