Let's give every woman in America a pepper spray
On Independence Day 2011, Resist Attack founder James Shaw realized that he was tired of trying to sell products that can protect women from the vicious attacks we all hear about.
He decided to immediately change the direction of the business; stop spending money on advertising and instead fund a program whose mission is to give every woman a free pepper spray.
This program got started quickly and found widespread support from influential women bloggers and feminist groups alike. An all-women Advisory Board now help the Resist Attack team with their mission.
The first pepper spray giveaways started locally in Austin, Texas within a few weeks of the initial idea and are already making a difference to women's safety. We are active on Twitter and Facebook - please follow us!
