Who We Help
Our long-term mission is to give a pepper spray to every woman in America, but that may take us a little time!
Until then, we have to prioritize carefully who receives them first - women who are at most at risk.
Some examples include:
- Women with history of battery or abuse; we have ties to local shelters and police forces to find women in urgent need
- Women who are frequently alone at night - examples include retail staff, nurses, shoppers, joggers, gym members, etc
- Women who find themselves in dangerous situations alone with men; realtors are a great example
- Women who are travelling or away from home, such as business-women and college students
Q: I made a purchase - can I tell you who to give the pepper sprays to? Can I get the free pepper spray?
Unfortunately not. We appreciate your business, and thank you for funding our mission, but we work hard to identify the most effective locations to make our donations. However, we'd love to hear your suggestions.
Please focus on the fact that you are doing a good deed with your purchase! We make all the donations on your behalf.
Q: So, you give away a pepper spray after every purchase?
It's actually better than that. Initially we said to ourselves that for every $40 spent in our store we'd give a woman a free pepper spray. So if you bought a $400 TASER we'd give away TEN pepper sprays! In fact, since we've launched our mission we've spent all our profits plus a little more on giving away pepper sprays!
